VOLUNTEER TRAIL CLEAN UP. COMMUNITY BUILDING. SPRING HIKE
Community Clean Up – June 14, 2026 - 10:00 am
Join Friends of Horseshoe Canyon for a community clean up day on Sunday, June 14, 2026 as we work together to help care for and protect this incredible landscape.
This volunteer event is an opportunity for residents, visitors, families, and local businesses to come together in support of stewardship, conservation, and community pride. Participants will help remove litter and debris from the canyon area while promoting responsible recreation of the area.
Hotdogs and drinks will be provided for volunteers following the clean up while supplies last. Families are also encouraged to participate in our children’s colouring contest, accepted up until 5:00 pm.
Children attending the community clean up event must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for outdoor conditions and uneven terrain, including proper footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, and water. Horseshoe Canyon contains natural hazards including steep slopes, loose ground, uneven surfaces, wildlife, and changing weather conditions.
By attending the event, participants acknowledge that they do so voluntarily and at their own risk. “Friends of Horseshoe Canyon,” its volunteers, partners, and event organizers are not responsible or liable for any injury, loss, damage, accident, or illness that may occur during participation in the colouring contest or community clean up event.
Whether you can volunteer for an hour or stay for the whole event, every helping hand makes a difference. Together, we can help preserve Horseshoe Canyon for future generations.

The colouring contest is open to children ages 0–14 and will be divided into two age categories:

Ages 0–6
-
Ages 7–14
One winner from each age category will be selected by random draw on June 15, 2026. Winners will be contacted using the contact information provided on their entry form.
By entering the colouring contest, participants and/or their parent or legal guardian consent to “Friends of Horseshoe Canyon”:

displaying submitted colouring pages at community locations, events, or online;

posting the first name and age of contest winners on social media or promotional materials; and
-
using photographs or images of submitted artwork for non-commercial promotional purposes related to contest or organization activities.
No purchase is necessary to enter. Entries must be submitted by the stated deadline to qualify for the draw. “Friends of Horseshoe Canyon” reserves the right to disqualify incomplete or inappropriate submissions.
